POST APPOINTMENT
Please follow the Aftercare InstructionsCongrats on your beautiful set of lash extensions. To maintain your lashes, please follow our simple guidelines to maximize your results.
Initially,
~Avoid getting the lashes wet for the first 2 hours following your lash extension application or touch up (Fills require less wait). This can include, but is not limited to: steam from opening an oven, taking a hot showers, saunas, and swimming pools. ~Avoid tanning beds/spray tans for at least up to 2 days following your lash application. Dont's
~Do not use oil-based products for skincare, mascara/eyeliner, or face cleaning. Oil-based products will effect the adhesion of the lash glue and could cause the lashes to fall out prematurely. Please be aware that even if a product states that it is 'oil-free' there might still be ingredients that can affect the eyelash adhesion. ~Do not use makeup wipes, cotton rounds, q-tips, or anything that has small fibers or lint around your lash line. Fibers and lint will either get stuck in the lashes or they will slice the extensions away from the natural lash like string cuts into cheese! If you are investing in lashes, please do not shorten their life span with makeup wipes or other fiber-based products. ~Do not scrub or rub your lash line. If you have to do more than a simple foam bath or splash of water to clean this area, your retention will be reduced. With lash extensions, your makeup removing routine will need to change slightly. ~Do not use Oils, Glycerin, Carbonates or Glycol-based products around your eyes. Check those product ingredients! ~Do not use mascara, cream shadows, or pencil/cream eyeliner. These products WILL cause lashes to come out prematurely. There are products that are designed for use with lash extensions. ~Do not use an eyelash curler. Ever. Even if you aren't wearing lash extensions, they are horrible for your lashes! ~Do not pick at or unnecessarily touch your lashes. Every time you touch them you are transferring oil and germs to the lash site. If this is your first application, the adhesive line might be something you find yourself touching and picking at BUT do not do this. You will pull out extensions AND your natural lash. Do's
~Groom your lashes with a mascara wand daily and gently from underneath. Ideally, you should groom them when they are damp, not wet. Always brush after the adhesive line starts. If you decide on longer lengths, they will need to be brushed more often. ~Use eyeliner in powdered, liquid or thin gel mediums. ~Do inform all other service providers regarding your lashes when going for facial work. Caution is recommended when having services including lasers, chemical peels, hydroxyl treatments, and any other acidic substances. ~Do ENJOY waking up beautiful and glam for your day! Natural Lash Cycle
The natural lash cycle is between 60-90 days. At any given time, your lashes could be at any stage in this cycle. When one lash falls out another is right behind it growing in. You may lose a few lashes every day (including the day you are lashed), only now it will be more apparent considering the extensions attached to them. Because of the cycle, you will need regular fills every 2-3 weeks to keep your lashes uniform and looking beautiful. This is a service that DOES need upkeep - Fills
If you have ever kept up with nails or highlights, this is similar. If you plan on wearing the lashes for only a few weeks (to go on vacation and not worry about makeup... or something to that effect) come back in to have them removed, or call to find other alternatives to removal. Do NOT pick/pull them off. You will damage your natural lashes. Amplify's Lash Fill Policy: There must be at least 40% of lash extensions remaining to be considered a Fill client. We do Fills from day 8 to day 21. Day 0 is considered to be the last appointment you had with Amplify. Anything past Day 21, regardless of retention, is now considered a Full set because of the lash growth that must be addressed/removed/replaced during the appointment. If coming from another artist, regardless of how many times you have been to Amplify in the past, there is a small fee attached to the Fill price, and the 40% extensions remaining policy will also be in effect. |
